Either way, read on for the full scoop!<\/p>\n<h2>World Teen Parliament: of the teens, by the teens, for the world<\/h2>\n<p><strong>World Teen Parliament <\/strong>is an initiative of <strong>Blub World in collaboration with the UNESCO New Delhi Office <\/strong>in India. In their own words, it is the &#8220;world&#8217;s first exclusive teen parliament&#8221; and aims to <strong>drive local projects with global impact<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Young people between the ages of 13 and 18 (as of 15 September 2021) in any country are invited to <strong>answer the question<\/strong>:<strong> &#8220;How will I improve the world?\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Every candidate must\u00a0<strong>propose an idea and plan to solve a local or global problem <\/strong>with specific actions. To do so, they are asked to record a video in English or Hindi lasting a maximum of 59 seconds.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RSFk6_-qey0\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The teens who come up with<strong> the 100 best proposals<\/strong>, taking into account both feasibility and the popularity of the videos, <strong>will<\/strong> <strong>become members of the World Teen Parliament<\/strong>, a programme that will train them as leaders as they put their plan for a better world into action.<\/p>\n<p>These 100 young people will have the chance to <strong>share their ideas with various world leaders<\/strong>, <strong>inspire other teens by giving talks in schools<\/strong>, and <strong>carry out their projects with their peers <\/strong>to see them come to fruition.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>World Teen Parliament will have its first official meeting on 15 September<\/strong>, the International Day of Democracy, and members will serve a one-year term. After that time, they will be replaced by a new group of teens who are eager to make local improvements and better the planet.<\/p>\n<h2>What will young people take away from this incredible exchange of ideas?<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>World Teen Parliament experience <\/strong>has immense value for the personal development of all participants. Throughout this global exchange of ideas, <strong>young people will gain<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Empathy<\/strong>, the key to identifying a problem and starting to solve it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Critical<\/strong> <strong>thinking<\/strong>, the ability that drives our ideas.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Creativity<\/strong>, because problem-solving means going off the beaten track.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Communication<\/strong>, without which no major project can move forward.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collaboration<\/strong>, with which to realise original ideas through teamwork.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Leadership<\/strong>, because by working for a better world they will bring together and inspire other talented people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Taking part in the <strong>World Teen Parliament <\/strong>is a great opportunity for all young people, <strong>who will be able to drive a project that benefits their surroundings <\/strong>and receive the support they need to carry it out, both through training and material means.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2114 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/dothegap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/conoce-el-world-teen-parliament-clase.jpg\" alt=\"Conoce el World Teen Parliament y participa en este proyecto global \u2013 Clase\" width=\"750\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dothegap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/conoce-el-world-teen-parliament-clase.jpg 750w, https:\/\/dothegap.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/conoce-el-world-teen-parliament-clase-300x160.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For their part, <strong>the schools that help to promote the initiative will provide their students with a global platform and have the chance to join the parliamentary committee<\/strong>, thus raising awareness and sharing an initiative that strives to build a better world.<\/p>\n<h2>What is dothegap\u2019s role and how can you get involved?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Mercedes Mart\u00ednez Villar, founder and CEO of dothegap<\/strong>, is a member of the <strong>Central Working Committee of the World Teen Parliament 2021<\/strong>.
